Samsung‘s latest flagship Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has finally arrived in Nepal. The device with an impressive 108MP camera and 100X zooming ability will be available for purchase for Rs. 159,999. The price is definitely high but the performance doesn’t lag behind for the price. Read about the device specifications and overview right in this article. The S20 and S20 Plus were already launched in Nepal.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Overview:
Display
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The touch sampling rate in the device is 240Hz.
The device comes with IP68 dust and water resistance and has glass back making it feel a flagship device.
Camera

The camera is what makes it attractive. It comes in a quad-camera setup. As we mentioned earlier, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra consists of a top of the specs 108 MP camera. The camera works on the 9 in 1 pixel binning technology which basically combines 9 images to a sharp image. The output 12MP images are vibrant and crisp even in low light conditions. The camera comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and can also record 8K videos.
The huge 108MP camera is accompanied by a 48MP periscopic lens. The lens is capable of capturing images with 10X optical zoom and 100X super-resolution zoom. In addition to it, the periscopic camera also contains OIS.
The other two lenses include 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 0.3MP ToF 3D DepthVision sensor.
40MP front camera sits on the cut-out of the display in the device. The camera 40MP lens comes with 80º field-of-view.
Performance
Talking about the performance, the phone launched in Nepal comes with Exynos 990 chipset. The Snapdragon 865 variant was launched in the US and the global version came up with Exynos 990. Though the Samsung Galaxy S20 series also comes with 5G support, the variant launched in Nepal doesn’t support 5G which we believe is reasonable as 5G networks aren’t available in Nepal (as of now) and launching 5G support variant would just add burden to the customers.
The device was manufactured on 12GB and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM variants with up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. However, only a 12GB RAM variant with 128GB storage made its way to Nepal. The storage is expandable up to 1TB by adding a microSD card. There is no dedicated microSD slot though. You can put either two nano-SIM cards or one nano-SIM + microSD card depending on your need.
Battery
Bigger display and high refresh rate is sure to make the device consume a lot of power. Samsung has done a great job by putting a massive 5,000mAh battery. With this huge battery, the phone feels a bit bulkier.
The battery support 45W fast charging. The device can be charged by a 15W wireless charger and has a reverse wireless charging ability of 9W (PowerShare).
Other
Samsung has removed a 3.5mm audio jack from the device. Similarly, Samsung has got rid of the heart-rate sensor and variable aperture lens.
