Visionox, Chinese display manufacturing company has announced to have started mass production of in-display camera displays. The company is reported to have brought many changes to the hardware and software.
In-display cameras are the most awaited tech of these days. People want to experience the real full-screen view without any pop-ups, notches, or cut-outs. Although several companies have revealed the samples of in-display camera technology, the technology is still on the waiting list.
In-display Selfie Camera Concept:
After Oppo and Xiaomi revealed the in-display camera technology, people started looking for it. However, later Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing said that technology these days is not sufficient enough to power an in-display selfie camera. He told that in-display cameras are likely to capture blurred images and images with low brightness as 400 pixels per square inch reduce the amount of light entering the camera.
Things might have changed since he made this statement. Visionox is reported to have started the mass production of in-display selfie camera displays. The company has tweaked hardware and software for this technology. The company might have solved the issues, or it just started to be the first company to initiate production.
As per ITHome, the Visionox offers several hardware enhancements to deliver a better experience. The tweaks carry improved transparency in the camera area of the screen, and an “industry-first drive circuit and pixel structure design” (as per machine translation) to reduce obstruction.

According to ITHome, Visionox is now working with device manufacturers to offer a software algorithm for improving diffraction and reduce the fogging effect. The algorithm will result in photos with better brightness and clarity.
We’re expecting to see phones with an in-display selfie camera around the end of 2020 and in 2021. What do you think of the in-display selfie cameras, will they stand or fail to stand as pop-up cameras.
