Poco X3 Pro, Poco’s newest offering has finally made it to Nepal. The device coming with Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 and 5160 mAh battery is supposed to lead the Nepalese smartphone market in the 30 to 40 thousand rupees range. The company is targeting it to the gaming enthusiasts and calls it the Poco F1 successor which was a big hit in the Nepalese market. Has it got other specs right to lead the segment? Performance
As mentioned above, the Poco X3 Pro comes with the flagship processor, Snapdragon 860, featuring as the first device to launch with this chipset. The 8-core chipset boasts 7nm processing technology, delivering a 2.96GHz maximum frequency. Paired with Adreno 640 GPU graphics processor, the device is supposed to handle the graphics pretty good. Going through the specs, the device is the undisputed leader in gaming smartphone category.
POCO X3 Pro features LiquidCool Plus – a cooling solution packing an enlarged copper heat pipe and multiple layers of graphite that work together to reduce the device’s thermal capacity. The device also comes paired with LPDDR4X RAM (6GB or 8GB) and UFS 3.1 storage, which is 3X faster than UFS 3.0 and 14X faster than UFS 2.1which isn’t common at this price range.
The device also comes with Z-Shocker haptic motor that gives feedback with customized vibrations.
Display
The POCO X3 Pro comes with a 120Hz display which it advertises as a Reality Flow 120Hz refresh rate. It is an adaptive display that reads and understands the frame rate variability in an app’s content and automatically adjusts the desired refresh rate to 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, or 120Hz, saving battery and making the smartphone more power-efficient. This allows the phone’s refresh rate to go up for high-capacity situations like gaming and down for lighter operations like reading or watching a movie.
The device features a dot-type bezel-less 16.9cm (6.67) FullHD+ display with 2400x 1080p resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It also comes with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display is supposed to deliver punchy vivid colors and provide stunning visuals and contrast, with HDR 10 support.
It is worth noting that the device has a plastic back.
Camera
POCO X3 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup, consisting of a 48MP primary sensor with F/1.79 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 118° FoV, 2MP macro camera, and a depth sensor for portraiture.
There exist a 20MP front camera for selfies.
The device supports 4K video recording at 30/60fps and comes with several features including smooth video zoom, focus peaking and AE/AF lock along with Vlog mode. There exist more features such as Night mode 2.0, Long exposure, Clone Photo, and Video mode.
Battery
POCO X3 Pro houses a 5160mAh battery. It comes with MMT tech, a split charge technology that allows better charge time in a shorter span of time and also protects the battery health cycle for the longer run. The device also comes with an in-box fast 33W Type-C charger and supports USB PD charge at 26W.
Others
The device is paired with a dual-stereo speaker setup and is high-res audio, and is aptX™ HD certified. The speakers have the ability to self-clean themselves.
POCO X3 Pro comes with IP53 certification for dust and water ingress protection in rough weather conditions.
