Chaudhary Group (CG), Nepal’s one of the biggest corporate houses has introduced its new Internet Service Provider (ISP), CG NET with the best package among the ISPs in Nepal. The company is offering the highest, 120Mbps Internet plans at an unbeatable price in Nepal.
After continuous unsuccessful attempts to get a unified license from Nepal Telecommunication Authority, CG Communications Limited has shifted focus to cable internet and come up with CG NET which claims to provide the fastest internet at the cheapest price.
CG NET Internet Plans:
CG NET packages start at just Rs. 999 a month for 120 Mbps. The 3 monthly package costs Rs. 2,997 while 6 months plan will cost Rs. 5,994. The one-year package will cost Rs. 11,988. The price mentioned is exclusive of VAT and 13% VAT is applicable.

One Time Charge
The above-mentioned isn’t the only amount you’ll need to pay while making a new connection from CG NET. You’ll also have to pay a certain amount based on the package you choose.
The installation charge and drop wire charge are free for all 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and 12-month packages. There is a refundable deposit of Rs. 500 you’ll need to pay.
You’ll also need to pay for the single-band router in 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months packages. For 1 month package, CG NET will ask you Rs. 2,500, for 3 months package, it’ll ask Rs. 2,000 and for 6 months package, you’ll need to pay Rs. 1,500. Additionally, you can also keep a Dual-band router for 5Ghz Wi-Fi by paying Rs. 3,500 in the 1-month plan, Rs. 3,000 in 3 months plan and Rs. 2,500 in 6 months plan. The CG NET is not taking any extra charges for any of the routers.

Fair Usage Policy (FUP)
CGNET’s Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is only applicable on Individual subscriber’s packages. CGNET monitors excessive usage in a monthly cycle. Data usage is calculated by adding both downloads and upload data used every month.
CG NET does three levels of speed throttling depending on the customer’s usage within a monthly cycle. At crossing Level 1 Fair Usage Quota threshold, the client’s speed will be throttled to 50%, at Level 2 speed will be throttled to 30%, and at level 3 speed will be throttled to 10%. If a customer has crossed the FUP Quota threshold, their data usage counter will reset at the first of every month and their Internet will return to its original speed.

IPTV
CG NET currently doesn’t have its IPTV service. As per the various sources, the IPTV service by CG NET is pending approval from the government bodies. So, we can expect to have its IPTV services within few months.
MBps vs Mbps debate
This MBps vs Mbps debate has been firing in social media these days. Many social media users are getting confused between these two. So, I’m going to tell you exactly what this is and what does it mean in Internet Packages.
Via Internet, data is transmitted in bits. Bit basically means binary digit that consists of either ‘0’ or ‘1’. 8 bits make one byte. When 1024 bits of data can be transmitted in 1 second, the speed is said 1 Kbps or ‘1 kilobit per second’. 1 Mbps stands for ‘1 megabit per second’ and equals 1024 Kbps.
Similarly, when 1024 bytes or 8192 bits can be transferred in one second, the transfer speed is known as 1KBps or ‘1 kilobyte per second‘ which is 8 kilobit per second. When data transfer speed is 1024 KBps or 8192 Kbps, the speed is said 1 MBps or ‘1 megabyte per second‘ and that equals 8Mbps.
I know it’s confusing between terms. So, I’m going to present it in the following table for better understanding. The data in a row of the table is equal.

Is speed provided by CG less than other ISPs?
No, it isn’t. Actually, all the ISPs advertise their plans in Mbps (Megabits per second). So, if you are subscribed to 30Mbps package of any ISP, the speed provided by CG NET on its 120Mbps plan is 4 times faster than your current plan, at least on paper.
